The overdischarge can significantly degrade a lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery's lifetime. Therefore, it is important to detect the and prevent severe damage of Li-ion battery. Depending on battery technology, there minimum voltage (cutoff voltage) that allowed be discharged in common practice. Once below cutoff voltage, considered as overdischarge. However, will not lead immediate failure battery, if detected, increase above during charging process. How an has happened, while current larger than thus becomes very challenging. In this article, machine learning based two-layer fault diagnosis strategy for batteries electric vehicles proposed. first layer by comparing with like what utilized If second layer, which detection approach eXtreme Gradient Boosting algorithm, triggered. employed previous proposed method validated real vehicle data.
